Genesis Naturals was created from lived experience, deep respect for plants, and the belief that people deserve to understand how to care for their bodies—gently, intentionally, and with confidence.

In my early twenties, I was diagnosed with cancer twice in a short span of time—the first while pregnant with my second child, the second before that child turned one. Over the years that followed, I faced additional cancer diagnoses and surgeries, with my most recent diagnosis occurring in 2013.

By that point, my health was at its lowest.

Despite being health-conscious and appearing outwardly well, my body was overwhelmed. I was taking multiple medications, many prescribed to counteract the side effects of others. I lived with chronic pain, digestive dysfunction, neuropathy, constant fatigue, and a growing sense that my body was no longer functioning as it should.

Long before my diagnoses, I had been introduced to herbs.

My mother—an original “hippie” by today’s standards—taught me early on about plants and their traditional uses. Because of her, herbs were never foreign to me. They were familiar, practical, and deeply human.

When conventional approaches left me feeling worse instead of better, I knew I had to explore a different path.

Under medical supervision, I made the decision to slowly step away from medications while returning to the study of herbs with focus and discipline. What began as personal research became years of learning, experimentation, and lived experience. My kitchen filled with teas, notes, jars, and questions.

I learned what supported my body, what didn’t, and how consistent, gentle nourishment could restore balance over time.

Within two years, I was off all medications.

That journey led me to formal herbal studies and certification—not for recognition, but for responsibility. I wanted to understand plants deeply, respectfully, and accurately, and to share that knowledge in a way that was practical and accessible.

Today, I have been cancer-free since 2014.

Genesis Naturals exists to help people reconnect with foundational herbs that have supported humanity for centuries. Through thoughtfully crafted teas, monthly subscription boxes, and educational resources, our goal is to help you build your own herbal “medicine cabinet” one herb at a time—without overwhelm, trends, or fear-based wellness.

This is not about rejecting modern medicine.

It is about remembering that nature has always been part of our healing story.
